Stanford University is home to The Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute. The institute maintains and supports the King papers and resources and has created a Liberation Curriculum, which includes lesson plans and educational resources for students of all ages. Clayborne Carson, PhD, professor of American history and director of the institute, was selected by Coretta Scott King in 1985 to edit and publish the papers of Martin Luther King, Jr.
